Saying Goodbye & Back to Normalcy

DAY 61, THURSDAY, MARCH 14TH

Hannah leaves today :( my host mom dropped her off at the train station bright and early (5 am) for her to get to the airport! It was really nice having her here, thanks for coming HBo!!I woke up and said goodbye and then went back to sleep before waking up for real later. After I woke up for real I worked on some homework and laundry before heading in for my regular classes! I am finally back on regular schedule and just went to classes and went home for dinner afterwards. For dinner we had frikadeller again which I always love! After dinner we had some coffee/tea, and fruit while watching the final episode of an outdoor wilderness survivor show- I was really rooting for Mette to win but she couldn’t quite hold out :/ then if was off to bed to catch up on some rest!

DAY 62, FRIDAY, MARCH 15TH

Woke up early as always for my morning classes today. In danish class we discussed Bernie Sanders platform/his appreciation of Denmark and the benefits/problems with implementing a welfare state in the US. In criminology we debriefed on the prison visit (and found out the crime that the women inmate we talked to did :0 ). Definitely two interesting classes today! After classes I met up with my two friends I’m doing travel week with to book places to stay!!!!! We (finally) got everything booked so now we just gotta figure out what we want to do while we are there. We met at a super cool cafe and I may have had the best brownie of my life- now I have to go back :). After finishing up I headed back home to try and do one more load of laundry before Amelie came home and people came over for dinner! My host mom’s sister, her husband, and their DIS student came over for dinner tonight. We’ve seen them twice before so now I know them pretty well! We had a really nice dinner with some bread appetizers and poke bowls for dinner (definitely helping to fulfill my sushi craving!).

The night couldn’t be complete without 6 of us playing a game of sequence before some dessert! After they finally left around 11:30 I took a quick shower and a 10 minute packing job for my trip with my class this weekend before heading to bed!
